Maxar is seeking ambitious software engineers to build novel solutions for challenging problems for both US Government and industry customers. Work is centered on the development of a suite of high fidelity, physics-based software that models air and space Intelligence Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) systems to include their subsystems and payloads as well as ground components. The focus of this position will be to contribute to the full stack development of components that comprises a family of applications built on this software suite. Development is conducted in an agile environment.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be a U.S. Citizen and have an active/current TS/SCI clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline (Computer Science or related preferred).
• 8+ years of relevant software development experience.
• Must be willing to work at Herndon, VA office a minimum of three days a week (more may be required).
• Java programming language experience.
• Experience with development tools such as Eclipse, IntelliJ, VSCode, etc.
• Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
• Effective oral and written communication skills to include active listening.
• Capable of managing to schedule and/or budget.

PREFERRED SKILLS:

• Active/current TS/SCI clearance with CI poly.
• Practical knowledge of Agile development process utilizing the Atlassian Tool Suite (JIRA, BitBucket, Confluence).
• Web application front-end experience (e.g., Vue/JavaScript).
• Familiarity with micro-service architectures and technologies (e.g., Spring Boot).
• Familiarity with Spring Framework and associated annotations.
• SQL/database experience.
• Linux experience.
• Experience with ISR planning, scheduling, or modeling and simulation software.

Our salary ranges are market-driven and set to allow for flexibility. Individual pay will be competitive based on a candidate’s unique set of knowledge, skills, and geographic diversity, with earnings potential commensurate with experience. The range for this position is:
$131,000.00 - $219,000.00 annually.
