What the Candidate Will Need / Bonus Points- What the Candidate Will Do -

• Building scalable innovative Discovery&Search platform for UberEats
• Building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers
• Communicating with clients, other technical teams, and management to collect requirements, describe software product features, and technical design

- Basic Qualifications -

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or related field, with 5+ years of full-time engineering experience.
• Experience in hands-on software development with thoughtfulness of scale, latency and distributed architecture.
• Highly efficient coding in Golang, Java or any similar languages.
• Solid execution.
• Experiencing building and maintaining streaming big data pipeline

- Preferred Qualifications -

• Solid systems design skills.
• Proven experience of shipping high-quality products/services.
• A great teammate and owner - willing to take on ownership of the systems, and think about operations, maintenance and reliability of their systems.
• Experience with Data Pipelines
• Working experience with Flink, Spark, and/or Kafk

This org owns serving and indexing within our search and discovery experience, supporting multiple data retrieval methods from Lucene based search to exact-match queries and more. We focus on inventing new and exciting ways to help customers find the products they want within our ever growing catalog which requires understanding the customer needs and building a highly performant backend to support these use cases.

For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$185,000 per year - USD$205,500 per year. For Sunnyvale, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$185,000 per year - USD$205,500 per year. For all US locations, you will be eligible to participate in Uber’s bonus program, and may be offered an equity award & other types of comp. You will also be eligible for various benefits.
