JOB OVERVIEW:

We are seeking an experienced Sr. Solutions Architect/AWS Management to oversee and maintain our AWS Organization while ensuring adherence to industry best practices. The role involves designing, reviewing, and implementing AWS solutions that meet performance, security, and scalability requirements. The ideal candidate will serve as a senior point of contact for complex AWS-related issues, coordinate with internal teams and agencies, and work closely with AWS and other third-party vendors.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Oversee the maintenance of the existing AWS Organization, ensuring best practices are followed.
  • Design, review, and implement AWS solutions for both ITS and agencies that meet required performance, security, and scalability standards.
  • Troubleshoot and support complex AWS-related issues, including network connectivity.
  • Work with AWS and other third-party vendors to integrate various products into the AWS ecosystem.
  • Provide mentorship and training to staff members, building internal cloud expertise.
  • Assist in the creation and maintenance of technical documentation, standards, and playbooks.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Deep knowledge of key AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, IAM, Lambda, CloudFormation, etc.).
  • Experience leading cloud migrations or implementations in a complex multi-account environment.
  • Strong network troubleshooting skills.
  • Familiarity with AWS Landing Zone implementations and management.
  • Proficiency with infrastructure as code (CloudFormation, Terraform, AWS CDK) and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience implementing security best practices.
  • Familiarity with DevOps principles, containerization, and serverless architectures.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of explaining complex concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Proven experience mentoring staff and fostering a collaborative environment.
  • Effective problem-solving skills and strong organizational abilities.

PREFERRED SKILLS:

  • AWS Professional-level certification.
  • Experience in government or highly regulated environments.
  • Knowledge of ITIL, project management methodologies, and enterprise IT governance frameworks.
  • Familiarity with other public cloud providers and hybrid-cloud environments.
  • Working knowledge of scripting/programming languages (Python, Bash, PowerShell).
