Sr SOX Analyst/Accountant

We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Sr SOX Analyst/Accountant in Akron, Ohio. The individual will play a pivotal role in our team, providing support in the SOX reporting and accounting functions. The industry we operate in is fast-paced and requires a detail-oriented professional who can efficiently process and maintain accurate customer records.

• Support the SOX reporting and accounting functions.
• Analyze and interpret data related to SOX - Sarbanes-Oxley Compliance.
• Collaborate with both internal and external audit teams to ensure compliance with regulations.
• Utilize Blackline and Acumatica tools to streamline accounting processes.
• Conduct month-end close processes, ensuring all financial data is accurately recorded.
• Monitor customer accounts and take appropriate action based on account status.
• Maintain accurate customer credit records, updating them as necessary.
• Process customer credit applications, ensuring all information is correctly inputted and processed.
• Resolve customer inquiries efficiently, providing high-quality customer service.
• Continually update skills and industry knowledge to provide effective operations.
• Proficiency in SOX - Sarbanes-Oxley Compliance is required.
• Demonstrated experience with Month End Close processes.
• Must hold a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
• Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office suite.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is preferred.
• Ability to work collaboratively with a team and independently when required.
• Demonstrated experience in project management is a plus.
• Must adhere to high ethical standards and demonstrate professionalism.
• Knowledge of US GAAP is required.
• Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks efficiently.
• Demonstrated ability to adapt to new technologies and tools.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
