Description:

JOB CONTEXT

The Warehouse stores handles number of food and non-food items and caters to the requirement of the airline and airport catering facility and Food Point. There are mainly three sections of the W&D Division:
1. Main Stores (Stock Control, Daily Operations),
2. Airlines Stores (Bonded Stores, Equipment Stores)
3. Aweer Stores
The job holder*s daily duties may vary based on the section s/he has been allotted to, however the primary role remains the same and that is to assist in the storage, distribution, control, issuance, and record keeping operations of the W&D Division.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Minimum Qualification: Higher Secondary School Certificate or equivalent qualification.

SKILLS:

Should have good communication skills. Knowledge of spoken and written English is a must in order to communicate with his/her colleagues and other departments. Should have basic familiarity with safety, hazards and hygiene concepts. Should be computer literate.

EXPERIENCE:

Should have at least 3 years prior experience in Stores Operations.

Responsibilities:

JOB PURPOSE

Receive, store, and issue materials, equipment, and other items from the warehouse based on the catering uplifts; assist in daily operations and regular monitoring and control of stock thereby ensure timely delivery of service as per defined requirements.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

  1. Plan and transfer the daily requirements from bulk to daily stores and ensure proper documentation to match the transactions.
  2. Offload and collect aircraft equipment, verify the opening stock, replenish canisters up to defined standards, document the replenishment, sort the equipment, set, clear from the store, marshal and load the store sets onto the aircraft.
  3. Prepare the aircraft dry stores, amenities, bars, saleable and minerals according to the appropriate airline/aircraft galley-loading plan and packing lists. S/he should dispatch and offload equipment to and from out stations and pack the standard uplifts.
  4. Produce inventories, work float figures and any required reports as requested by reporting manager.
  5. Control the storage and issuance of food products in a first in, first out basis so as to minimize wastage and ensure that all the in/out dates are recorded in the Bin cards for easy data retrieval.
  6. Carry out the daily activities by adhering to the company*s Hygiene and safety rules and regulations.
  7. Ensure that the goods are stored in a tidy manner that simplifies the issuance and stock taking process.
  8. Being an active and important member of the flight services handling chain, the jobholder must be updated with all airlines flight schedules and workout along with His/her immediate supervisor and/or the Asst. Vice President *’ Warehousing & Distribution Manager the airlines stock requirements as defined by the galley loading plans and the menu specifications.
  9. Apply the Quality Policy and Quality System established in accordance with ISO 9001: 2000 international standards and execute His/her responsibilities according to the department work procedures while reflecting EKFC Quality Policy.
