Description:
Responsibilities:
We are seeking an experienced Product Owner to join our cloud engineering team with a specific focus in backend systems. This role is crucial in shaping our cloud-based solutions and effectively communicating key content to a variety of stakeholders. Based out of our Ottawa location, you’ll collaborate with our international agile teams, focusing on developing systematic processes and maximizing the potential of Agile tools.
- User Stories & Backlog Management: Craft detailed user stories, acceptance criteria, and backlog items, ensuring alignment with business goals. Collaborate closely with multi-disciplinary teams for refinement and approval of backlog items.
- Documentation & Product Artifacts: Develop essential product development artifacts including use cases, glossaries, process flows, and entity relationship diagrams.
- Agile Collaboration: Actively participate in Agile ceremonies and liaise with multiple Scrum teams. Effectively utilize Atlassian tools, especially JIRA and Confluence, for requirement management, planning, and documentation.
- Content Presentation: Present product content and articulate technical intricacies to downstream teams including engineering and first-level support, ensuring seamless knowledge transfer.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Coordinate with development, UX, QA, technical writing, and global teams to achieve clear, systematic outcomes. Foster strong relationships with backend-specific teams including database administrators and DevOps.
- Security & Compliance: Ensure products comply with cloud security protocols such as FedRAMP and SOC2, while maintaining a major focus on backend security best practices.
- Global Team Coordination: Facilitate effective communication among teams in Dallas, Eindhoven, India, and Canada, promoting collaboration across time zones and cultures to achieve project goals.
- Performance & Scalability: Work with engineering teams to identify and prioritize backend performance improvements and scalability considerations. Balance feature development with technical debt reduction and system enhancements.
