JOB POSTING

As a Senior UX/UI Specialist at American National you will create exceptional user experiences, but also help shape and support the overall design vision for the organization. You will collaborate closely with Product Managers, product owners, executive stakeholders, and cross-functional teams within a SAFe Agile environment to ensure that design decisions align with business objectives, enhance brand identity, and drive competitive advantage in the market. In this role, you will enjoy a supportive in-office environment out of Springfield, MO; League City, TX, or Galveston, TX.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Four to six years of experience.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, particularly with storytelling and establishing and advocating user points of view.
  • Experience communicating and presenting complex information to multiple levels of the organization, translating data into understandable, actionable information, and recommendations.
  • Ability to make timely and independent decisions while working in a fast-paced and results driven environment, making adjustments and course corrections in close partnership with delivery teams.
  • In-depth knowledge of graphic design and interactive tools such as Sketch, Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, InVision, etc. For conversational design in-depth knowledge of LucidChart, Visio, BlueWorks, Watson Assistant, etc.
  • Compelling portfolio that demonstrates clean designs and a strong process.
  • Experience with Agile, SAFe methodologies.

Responsibilities:

  • Manages multiple moderate to complex projects/tasks simultaneously.
  • Works closely with the Product Manager and/or Product Owner to understand user needs, pain points, and goals.
  • Conducts user research, usability testing, and gathers insights to inform product design decisions utilizing various qualitative and quantitative research methods, such as competitive analysis, creates user personas, user/customer journey maps, conducts surveys, interviews, A/B testing, and lead workshops.
  • Creates wireframes and mock-ups to visualize the product’s layout, navigation, and interactions.
  • Collaborates with the Product Manager, Product Owner and developers as needed to iterate on design concepts based on feedback to ensure the product is usable by a diverse audience.
  • Advocates for usability best practices and accessibility standards.
  • Provides coaching and mentoring to less experienced team members and help foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
