Description:
We are offering a contract-to-hire employment opportunity for a Staff Accountant in Parsippany, New Jersey. Operating within the Real Estate & Property industry, this role will involve working 2 days on-site and 3 days remotely. As a Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for a range of accounting tasks, with a focus on account analysis, reconciliations, and maintaining the general ledger.
Responsibilities:
- Managing and maintaining the General Ledger
- Conducting detailed account analysis as required
- Performing reconciliations of accounts to ensure accuracy
- Processing journal entries for transactions
- Utilizing Microsoft Excel for data analysis, specifically via v-lookups and pivot tables
- Overseeing both Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) processes
- Assisting with the month-end close procedure
- Adhering to internal control guidelines to safeguard company assets
- Supporting the resolution of customer inquiries as needed
- Monitoring customer accounts and taking appropriate actions.
- Must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
- Proven working experience as a Staff Accountant, or similar role
- Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting principles
- Proficiency in utilizing Microsoft Excel for financial analysis and reporting
- Experience with Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
- Familiarity with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process
- Proven ability to calculate, post, and manage accounting figures and financial records
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
- Experience in the Real Estate & Property industry is preferred, but not required.
