Description:

We are on the hunt for a Staff Accountant to join our team in Odessa, Texas. This role involves preparing asset, liability, and capital account entries, summarizing current financial status, and substantiating financial transactions.

Responsibilities

  • Compile and analyze account information to prepare asset, liability, and capital account entries
  • Collect information to summarize the current financial status and prepare balance statements, profit and loss statements, and other financial reports
  • Audit documents to substantiate financial transactions
  • Prepare working papers monthly in Excel to reconcile accounts and support financial statement preparation
  • Conduct special project work or ad-hoc financial analysis of organizational, branch, and department trends within cross-functional teams
  • Perform ad-hoc reporting and financial analysis as required to support management in the decision-making process
  • Complete reconciliation for purchase orders to ensure they are recorded in the proper accounts and time period
  • Develop specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, document, and accomplish work in order to meet established weekly and monthly deadlines
  • Assist with research for AFE/Cap Ex projects
  • Complete all safety and equipment related trainings required monthly
  • Possession of a bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field
  • A minimum of three years of relevant experience in the field of accounting
  • Proficiency in accounting software such as NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP
  • Experience with Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) processes
  • Familiarity with Bank Reconciliations, General Ledger, and Journal Entries
  • Proficiency in handling Month End Close procedures
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work independently and as a part of a team
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in preparing and entering financial information
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Understanding of confidentiality obligations and accounting best practices.
