Description:
We are inviting applications for the role of Staff Accountant, based in Cleveland, Ohio. The selected candidate will be an essential part of our team, focused on ensuring the smooth operation of our financial activities. The role involves a variety of tasks including posting transactions, reconciling inventory, and preparing documents for audits within the manufacturing industry.
Responsibilities:
- Handle the posting of transactions by categorizing records in the general ledger by assets, liabilities, and expenses.
- Support the reconciliation of inventory during month-end and year-end closures.
- Participate in the execution of month-end and year-end closures.
- Engage in inter-departmental coordination of accounting activities.
- Prepare necessary documentation for the annual audit process.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements.
- Investigate and document variances within General Ledger accounts to explain fluctuations.
- Conduct bank reconciliations and manage the process of journal entries.
- Work on the month-end close process within the manufacturing industry.
- Ensure smooth communication and cooperation with other departments affected by accounting procedures.
- Must hold a bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Staff Accountant role or similar position
- Proficiency in performing Bank Reconciliations
- Experience with General Ledger management
- Demonstrated ability to record Journal Entries accurately
- Experience in conducting Month End Close procedures
- Prior experience in the Manufacturing industry is preferred
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Attention to detail and ability to maintain high levels of accuracy
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations
- Excellent time management skills, ability to meet deadlines.
