Description:
We are searching for a Staff Accountant to join our team in Cleveland, Ohio. The role involves a range of accounting functions, from Accounts Receivable and Payable to Cost and Property Accounting. As a Staff Accountant, you will contribute to the development and installation of accounting systems, procedures, and controls and assist in maintaining our financial records.
Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized or general analysis support in various accounting functions
- Interpret accounting data, analyze reports, and recommend actions to be taken
- Prepare complex journal entries and maintain intricate ledgers
- Reconcile and analyze specific general ledger and cost account ledgers
- Assist in the development and installation of accounting systems and cost accounting methods
- Establish and maintain property accounting records
- Contribute to the maintenance of accurate customer credit records
- Process customer credit applications with accuracy and efficiency
- Monitor customer accounts and take appropriate action when necessary
- Utilize skills in General Ledger, Month End Close, and Journal Entries to perform tasks efficiently.
- Proven experience in a Staff Accountant role or similar
- Proficiency in managing General Ledger tasks
- Experience in performing Month End Close activities
- Ability to prepare and maintain Journal Entries
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and best practices
- Proficient in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
