Description:

Katie Weigel with Robert Half Finance & Accounting is recruiting for a Staff Auditor/Staff Accountant for a non-profit entity here in Reno, Nevada. This position reports directly to the Finance Manager, is a part of a small accounting group, and offers a strong variety of work responsibilities. This individual will be responsible for auditing external entities, and providing analysis and reporting, with heavy emphasis in ensuring compliance measures are hit. The role will also be responsible for the accounts payable functions, preparation of journal entries, both credit card and bank reconciliations, and other miscellaneous work as needed. The ideal candidate will be an individual who is ready to contribute, has a great attitude and enjoys having a variety on their plate on a daily basis. This position is open due to growth in the organization. A degree in Accounting and/or Finance preferred, but experience in lieu of is acceptable. The company offers a great benefits package, as well as an unreal retirement option (PERS). Compensation is dependent on accounting experience, education, and non-profit experience.   • Possess a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field ideally
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting or related role
  • Proficiency in adjusting journal entries and journal entries
  • Familiarity with accounts payable processes (AP)
  • Experience with audit procedures and practices
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
  • Demonstrated proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Knowledge of non-profit accounting principles would be advantageous
