Description:
We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Staff Accountant in Dallas, Texas. The role is within the industry, where you will be responsible for various accounting tasks, such as maintaining professional relationships, overseeing accounting for a portfolio of managed hotels, and preparing financial statements.
Responsibilities:
- Foster professional relationships with employees and various departments.
- Supervise the accounting for a diverse portfolio of managed hotels.
- Collaborate with the hotel accounting team and general managers to guarantee accurate allocation and recording of revenues and expenses.
- Execute the calculation and posting of accruals on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
- Execute monthly closing tasks diligently.
- Prepare and review financial statements, correcting or explaining any significant discrepancies.
- Ensure the accuracy of period-end data and provide explanations for any variances to budget and the previous year.
- Conduct financial analysis and budgeting tasks as part of the role’s responsibilities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- Proven experience in a similar role as a Staff Accountant
- Proficiency in budgeting and financial analysis
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
- Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process
- Excellent skills in MS Excel and accounting software
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
- Exceptional time management skills and ability to meet deadlines
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) certification is a plus
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
