Staff Accountant

We are seeking a Staff Accountant for our client in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The selected candidate will play a pivotal role in our financial operations, particularly in the month-end close process.

• Engage in the month-end close process, ensuring all financial transactions are accurately recorded
• Analyze accounting records and financial statements for completeness and compliance with US GAAP
• Balance sheet reconciliations
• Review records, month-end reconciliations, and supporting schedules for accuracy
• Develop and implement systems for maintaining financial records using current technologies
• Assist in identifying and implementing new accounting, financial, and analytical systems
• Handle sensitive data and engage in confidential aspects of accounting
• Advise management on fiscal procedures and matters of importance for the organization
• Determine the proper handling of financial transactions and approve transactions within designated limits
• Review, investigate, and correct errors and inconsistencies in financial entries, documents, and reports
• Conduct analysis and make recommendations to improve the organization’s accounting operations.
• Applicant must have a minimum of 1 year of experience in an accounting role
• Experience in performing Bank Reconciliations
• Familiarity with the General Ledger is essential
• Ability to make accurate Journal Entries is necessary
