Description:
Jennie Joiner is in the process of recruiting a Credit and Collections Lead to join our client within the Manufacturing industry, based in GRANTS PASS, Oregon. The role involves a variety of accounting duties, notably general ledger management and credit and collections operations. Our client is seeking someone with excellent written and verbal communication with the ability work with customers. Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance or related field required along with 5+ years accounting experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field
- Proficient in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) management
- Demonstrated experience in Bank Reconciliations
- Strong understanding of General Ledger and Journal Entries
- Familiarity with Month End Close procedures
- Knowledge of General Ledger Systems
- Experience in Collections and Collection Processes
- Skilled in Journal Entry Preparation
- Proficient in Balance Sheet Account Reconciliation and Balance Sheet Reconciliation
- Familiarity with Account Reconciliation procedures
- Experience in Reconciliations
- Ability to prepare and analyze Income Statements
- Previous experience in a scientific instrument manufacturing industry is a plus
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
Responsibilities:
- Conduct detailed analysis of the general ledger, including month-end journal entries and monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
- Assist in the preparation and maintenance of monthly balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements.
- Review and analyze financial data, providing financial recommendations when necessary.
- Facilitate the annual audit process by providing necessary account information and documents to outside auditors.
- Perform reconciliation of bank accounts monthly, verify deposits, and address inquiries from banks.
- Assess the creditworthiness of potential customers and clients.
- Set and enforce credit limits based on risk assessment.
- Monitor and manage overdue accounts to minimize bad debts.
- Negotiate payment terms and conditions with clients.
- Review credit applications and conduct credit checks.
- Develop and implement credit policies and procedures.
- Analyze financial data to evaluate credit risk and provide recommendations for credit approvals or rejections.
- Maintain accurate records of credit transactions and collections.
- Collaborate with sales and finance teams to optimize credit processes.
- Maintain knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures.
- Collaborate with other departments to complete accurate records and provide accounting support.
- Streamline accounting processes and document accordingly.
