Staff Accountant

We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Staff Accountant in Little Rock, Arkansas. The individual will be part of a dynamic team and will play a crucial role in maintaining financial records and reporting accurate financial information. This role will involve reconciling accounts, analyzing financial data, and supporting the month-end close process.

• Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring proper classification and adherence to accounting standards
• Assist with the preparation of budgets and forecasts, providing valuable insights and recommendations
• Collaborate with other departments to gather financial data and ensure accurate reporting and analysis
• Participate in the development and implementation of accounting procedures and internal controls to enhance financial processes
• Assist with audits and provide supporting documentation and explanations as needed
• Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
• Reconcile and analyze general ledger accounts, identifying and resolving any discrepancies
• Assist with the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring all financial activities are recorded accurately and in a timely manner
• Perform variance analysis and provide explanations for any significant deviations in financial results
• Stay up-to-date on accounting regulations, standards, and best practices to ensure compliance and provide accurate financial information.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Excel Formulas
• Experience with Account Reconciliation and Bank Account Reconciliation
• Familiarity with Accounts Payable (AP) procedures
• Ability to prepare and analyze Financial Statements
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and organizational abilities
• Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in work
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Willingness to continuously improve and learn new accounting procedures and principles
• Strong ethical standards and high levels of integrity
• Ability to meet deadlines and manage time effectively
• Knowledge of accounting software is a plus.
