Staff Accountant

We are searching for a Staff Accountant to join our team in the retail industry, based in Charleston, South Carolina. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for managing both accounts payable and receivable, conducting bank reconciliations, and maintaining the general ledger. The role also requires familiarity with real estate and month-end closing procedures.

• Manage and process accounts payable and receivable efficiently
• Conduct bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial data
• Maintain and update the general ledger regularly
• Prepare journal entries and post financial transactions
• Perform month-end closing procedures in a timely manner
• Use Yardi and Sage 100 software for accounting tasks
• Ensure compliance with retail industry financial regulations
• Handle any accounting issues related to real estate transactions
• Monitor customer accounts and take appropriate action when necessary
• Resolve customer inquiries related to financial transactions.

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Staff Accountant role or similar position within the retail industry
• Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) functions
• Experience with Bank Reconciliations is necessary
• Familiarity with General Ledger management
• Ability to prepare and record Journal Entries
• Capability to handle Month End Close procedures
• Knowledge of Yardi software is desirable
• Experience with Sage 100 software is beneficial
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
