Staff Accountant

We are seeking a Staff Accountant to join our team in the retail industry located in Henrico, Virginia. As a Staff Accountant, your primary role will be to manage all aspects of Accounts Payable, Sales Tax filings, Business License, and Journal Entry requirements. Additionally, you will assist with analysis for all items related to Payroll, Billing, Gross Margin, and Workforce Costs.

• Handle all aspects of Accounts Payable
• Complete all Sales Tax Filings and provide accounting support for all Sales Tax and Foreign GST Tax Filings
• Process all other Business Income and License Renewal filings
• Assist with responsibilities related to Travel for our large team of associates across North America
• Support the Finance Team with Month End Journal Entries
• Offer accounting support to the Accounts Payable process
• Conduct analysis for items related to Payroll, Billing, Gross Margin, and Workforce Costs
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Experience with Bank Reconciliations
• Knowledge of General Ledger management
• Ability to make Journal Entries accurately
• Familiarity with Month End Close procedures
• Proficiency in using NetSuite and Oracle for accounting tasks
• Experience with QuickBooks and SAP in a retail context
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent organizational and multitasking skills
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Familiarity with retail industry accounting practices and regulations
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
• Commitment to continuous improvement and professional development.
