Description:
We are looking for a Staff Accountant/AP Supervisor with a local company on a temporary basis. This role primarily involves overseeing full-cycle accounts payable processes, cash reconciliations, accruals, and journal entries. The position is a short term contract role and will be carried out in a hybrid work model.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the full-cycle accounts payable process to ensure all financial transactions are executed accurately and timely.
- Conduct cash reconciliations regularly to maintain the integrity of financial information.
- Prepare and post journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded.
- Manage accruals and deferred income at month end to represent the company’s financial status accurately.
- Utilize skills in Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Bank Reconciliations, General Ledger, Journal Entries, and Month End Close to perform job duties efficiently.
- Regularly review and analyze financial data and prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date filing systems and ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with other departments to gather information, resolve accounting discrepancies, and ensure financial reports are accurate.
- Engage in continuous knowledge development regarding sector’s rules, regulations, best practices, tools, techniques, and performance standards.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP)
- Proficiency in Accounts Receivable (AR)
- Experience in performing Bank Reconciliations
- Ability to make accurate Journal Entries
- Experience in Month End Close procedures
- Proficiency in Cash Reconciliations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Knowledge of accounting software and databases
