Description:
We are looking for a diligent Staff Accountant to join our team in Richmond, Virginia. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for maintaining and analyzing financial information, preparing financial reports, and ensuring the integrity of accounting records. This role is critical to the financial health of our organization and requires a professional with a strong understanding of accounting principles.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain and update carry-forward schedules related to transactions in accounts.
- Formulate and prepare monthly and year-end journal entries, reports, and schedules.
- Conduct monthly account analysis and reconciliations on investment, regular checking, parking, and payroll accounts.
- Assist in the preparation of the Annual Comprehensive Annual Financial Report.
- Proficiently handle Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) processes.
- Carry out bank reconciliations to ensure financial information accuracy.
- Maintain the General Ledger by recording financial transactions and making necessary adjustments.
- Prepare Journal Entries and ensure they are accurately recorded in the financial records.
- Assist in the Month End Close process by preparing and analyzing financial data.
- Prepare Month-end Journal Entries to reflect the organization’s financial activities accurately.
- Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) operations
- Experience in handling Accounts Receivable (AR)
- Ability to perform Bank Reconciliations
- Knowledge of General Ledger management
- Expertise in creating Journal Entries
- Capability to handle Month End Close processes
- Familiarity with Month-end Journal Entries
