Staff Accountant

We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Staff Accountant in Buffalo, New York. This role lies within the telecom provider industry and involves various accounting duties such as bank reconciliations, general ledger management, and journal entries, among others. You will be working with industry-specific software such as SAP and will play a crucial role in maintaining the financial health and transparency of the organization.

• Consistently observe safety and security procedures and promptly report potentially unsafe conditions to the relevant personnel.
• Prepare monthly expense analysis and balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accuracy in financial statements.
• Gather and prepare information as requested, demonstrating strong organizational and data management skills.
• Assist in the monthly close procedures to ensure a timely and efficient process, including tasks such as journal entries and bank reconciliations.
• Provide financial analysis as requested, offering insights and recommendations based on financial data.
• Perform other related duties as assigned or as may be required to meet emergencies, showing flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic work environment.
• Comply with all quality assurance, customer focus, infection control, safety policies, and procedures within the department and organization.
• Utilize SAP and other software for various accounting tasks, demonstrating technical proficiency and adaptability to different software systems.
• Participate in the month-end close process, ensuring all financial transactions for the month have been accurately recorded.
• Must have a minimum of 1 year of experience in a Staff Accountant role or similar
• Proficiency in Bank Reconciliations, General Ledger, Journal Entries, Month End Close is required
• Experience with SAP software is desired
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field is preferred
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively
• Detail-oriented with high standards for accuracy and precision
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
• Strong organizational and planning skills
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team
• Strong ethical standards and high levels of integrity.
