JOB OVERVIEW
Main Purpose of this Role
The Staff Administrator plays a crucial role in supporting the smooth and efficient operation of Riverside Bridge School, a special school dedicated to empowering and inspiring its diverse community of pupils. Reporting to the Senior Leadership Team, the Staff Administrator will be responsible for managing staff cover, recruitment, onboarding, and other key administrative functions, ensuring the school’s vision, values, and priorities are always upheld.
Key Responsibilities and Duties of this Role
Staff Cover and Overtime Management
o Arrange cover for staff sickness in the morning, including liaising with supply agencies, timetabling agency staff, and completing and sending the cover sheet to the whole school.
o Liaise with the safeguarding team to ensure all daily agency staff are recorded on the Single Central Record (SCR).
o Manage staff overtime requests and ensure fair and equitable distribution.
- Recruitment Co-ordination
o Advertise roles and monitor applications, actively exploring new approaches to reach potential applicants.
o Manage the recruitment of new school staff, following the school’s processes such as gathering application forms, sharing them with the Senior Leadership Team for review and shortlisting, sending out programmes for interview days, and issuing invite letters to candidates.
o Ensure onboarding processes of new staff follow the school’s procedures, including requesting references, sending contract letters, liaising with the safeguarding team to ensure all statutory documents are completed before the starting date, inputting new staff onto SIMS, and facilitating effective integration into the school environment.
o Complete new staff inductions and book in initial training with the relevant person .
o Provide support and guidance to new staff members during their induction period, ensuring they are well-equipped to contribute to the school’s vision and values.
o Keep recruitment and onboarding trackers up to date with all pertinent information.
o Liaise with the Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DDSL) to update the Single Central Register (SCR) with all new starters’ information in accordance with the Keeping Children Safe in Education Regulations and Ofsted requirements.
o Liaise with the HR Officer to keep the in-house HR systems updated with details of new starters.
o Liaise with the Senior Leadership Team in the maintenance and updating of staff job descriptions, maintaining an up-to-date database of all job descriptions.
