Description:

SALARY: £25-28K DOE

Our client, SMS International Shore Operations, is providing all passenger logistics services including port agency, turnaround services and shore excursions. Their teams welcome cruise guests from around the world and accommodate the needs of thousands of cruise ships every year. Dedicated, fully trained and experienced staff make sure to always provide excellent service under all circumstances – through personal attention, an eye for a detail and commitment towards continued improvement.
Due to their continuing growth, they are now seeking an enthusiastic and reliable Staff Coordinator to join their busy team in Southampton, Hampshire.

Staff Coordinator, day to day duties:

  • Maintaining a database on all staff to include their permanent schedules and rank
  • Performing checks on the scheduling system confirming staff assigned schedule
  • Updating management on the weekly staffing with actual vs. required staffing counts
  • Preparing quarterly audits of staff passes to ensure they are always up to date
  • Sending the pier staff hours by email and by post after every call
  • Monitoring the quality of service being provided by staff
  • Assisting with the training of new staff members
  • Making sure all the employees are in uniform at all times
  • Creating staff passes before the beginning of the season

Staff Coordinator, perfect candidate:

  • Relevant qualifications or degree would be beneficial
  • Some HR knowledge is essential, preferably within the travel industry
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Detailed orientated and multi-tasker – enjoy working within fast paced environment, under tight deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong data entry and sorting abilities - speed and accuracy is a key
  • Capable to analyse and resolve issues independently
