Responsibilities:
ABOUT THE ROLE:
We are looking for a fully trained Counsellor/Psychotherapist to offer counselling/psychotherapy to individual members of staff in accordance with guidelines prepared by the Senior Counsellor, making recommendations for onward referral where appropriate.
Also, with the support of the Senior Counsellor/Psychotherapist you will help devise and deliver subject related training to colleagues at all levels within the Bank.
This role requires liaison, where necessary and under the direction of the Senior Counsellor/Psychotherapist, with the Bank’s Wellbeing Unit, Human Resources (People Division), the Employees Assistance Programme and external clinicians.
Case management supervision and professional clinical supervision is provided internally in line with BACP guidelines. Opportunities for continuing professional development will be provided.
This is a small team consisting of: a Senior Staff Counsellor/Psychotherapist who works full time; and three Counsellor/Psychotherapists who work two days a week each covering a Monday and Friday based in Threadneedle Street.
ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Offer counselling/psychotherapy to individual members of staff in accordance with guidelines prepared by the Senior Counsellor; make recommendations for onward referral where appropriate.
- Keep confidential counselling records in the prescribed form and ensure accurate statistics are maintained; assist the Senior Counsellor in compiling reports as required.
- Ensure confidentiality of personal information in accordance with the Data Protection Act and the BACP Ethical Framework.
- Take part in and support the development of quality assurance and enhancement activities and procedures as directed by the Senior Counsellor/Psychotherapist, particularly with the aim of maintaining standards in accordance with the BACP.
- Create and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues within Occupational Health, Human Resources (People Directorate) and other relevant departments within the Bank.
- In conjunction with the Senior Counsellor/Psychotherapist, represent the Service on matters of employee mental health and wellbeing, including addressing groups of colleagues and dealing with external organisations as required.
- Deliver training and consultative support to managers involved in supporting staff, as requested by the Senior Staff Counsellor/Psychotherapist.
- Develop and provide workshops and/or groups to colleagues on relevant issues where a need is identified.
- Prepare for, participate in and fully engage with regular clinical supervision sessions provided by the Senior Staff Counsellor/Psychotherapist who is a clinical supervisor.
- Maintain personal and professional development to meet the changing demands of the job.
