Description:

General Summary: To directly supervise and coordinate Direct Support Professional Training. To instruct training according to state and federal regulations and company policy and procedure.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: includes the following. Other duties: to be assigned

  • Attend appropriate trainings to maintain certifications.
  • Monitor tracking system to ensure appropriate training for new employees.
  • Conduct CPR trainings to keep employees certifications current according to state and federal regulations.
  • Instruct and facilitate training classes according to regulations, schedule and directives.
  • Assist with training of supervisory staff as needed. This may include but not limited to, the ISP process, monthly progress notes, housekeeping issues, dietary concerns, scheduling etc.
  • Complete audits of On-the-job training/competency based training analysis packets of new employees. Document all audits completed in a timely manner. Maintain documentation required for the Health Care Worker Registry.
  • Conduct in-services to enhance staff understanding or abilities. Assist in maintaining in-service documentation of employees.
  • Collect and maintain required documentation for employees.
  • Assist with revision and implementation of employee training classroom curriculum.
  • Work closely with HR in hiring of new employees.
  • Display a positive attitude and respect toward others.
  • Responsible to schedule training and in-services for new employees.
  • Review and approve time sheets for new employees.
  • Responsible to ensure new employees follow policy and procedures. Provide disciplinary action per the BFF code of conduct.
  • Work with all departments to complete new employee training. As needed, act as a liaison between new employees and supervisors.
  • Computer systems: Quantum, Paycom, Quickmar, Infinitec

REQUIREMENTS:

Previous supervisory training or experience preferred. Possess CPR and TABE instructor certifications or willing to obtain within 6 months of hire.

  • BA or BS in Social Services field and 1 year of experience working with ID/DD population
  • Willingness to accept supervision, directions, and follow specific training guidelines.
  • Display a positive attitude and respect toward others. Express self effectively and appropriately in both verbal and written communication.
  • Ability to be a contributing team member and work cooperatively with all departments.
  • Sufficient physical stamina and mobility for lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling.
  • Ability to supervise and train new employees in a mature and responsible manner.
  • Proficient knowledge of MS office and office equipment such as photocopier, scanner etc.

Education/Experience:
Bachelors degree or better from an accredited four-year college or university or at least 1-year related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as benefit plan documents, and policy and procedural manuals. Ability to write reports and correspondence. Ability to understand and effectively present information and respond to questions from administrative staff, employees, and the general public.
Mathematical Skills:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or report form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in non-standardized situations. Able to use tangible and intangible information to come to a result.
Technology Skills:
Utilizes computer to accomplish job tasks. Computer literacy essential in word processing, spreadsheet applications, and databases. Knowledge of Outlook or similar program.
