Design Evaluation Engineer:
Analog Devices is the world’s No. 1 provider of analog to digital and digital to analog convertors and the Precision Convertor Group (PCG) is a key part of this success. The PCG group is responsible for developing leading edge technology for precision convertors throughout the signal chain such as leading-edge ADC’s, DAC’s and as well as micro modules incorporating a wide range of mixed signal technologies. The PCG group continues to push performance vectors such as resolution, noise, speed, power and robustness. The PCG group has an active portfolio of PCG technology customer ASSP’s for high profile Tier one customers. The broad range of product technologies and use models results in a varied, continually interesting, and challenging work environment.
Job Description:
PCG is looking for a Staff level Design Evaluation Engineer to join the Eval team. The Design Evaluation engineer is a key member of the new product development team, from the design stage to product release.
Responsibilities include:
Working closely with PCG Design Evaluation manager & other team leaders and contribute to PCG WW Eval community.
Opportunity to coach/mentor PCG Eval Engineers.
Developing hardware and software measurement systems to evaluate and characterise new products.
Prototyping of digital interfaces/blocks via FPGA development pre-silicon.
Micro modules prototyping support of laminate designs for full signal integration products.
Participate in PCG WW Design Evaluation improvement initiatives.
Hands-on debug of new products to quickly evaluate functionality and identify bugs.
Silicon characterization: carrying out bench top performance measurements and standard robustness tests.
Analyzing data and generating reports.
Go to market support activities e.g., CFTL, articles generation etc.
Working closely with Design, Test, Applications and Marketing Engineers to understand and overcome problems and work towards product release
The Design Evaluation role provides the opportunity to work in a technically challenging and highly rewarding environment.

The ideal candidate should have:

  • A strong technical background in mixed signal electronics.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Good initiative and motivation in a challenging environment.
  • The ability to work well in a worldwide team environment and share knowledge.
  • Programming experience: LabVIEW/C#/Python experience would be an advantage.
  • PCB schematic entry and layout design experience.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Plan/manage characterization schedules and priorities to meet key project milestones.
  • Hands on experience with bench top measurement equipment would be an advantage.
  • Degree in Electronic Engineering with 8+ years’ experience in Measurement, Silicon Evaluation, Test Development, or a similar role.
