Description:
This new role offers an exciting opportunity to join the Psychology Dept in the Mater Misericordiae University Hospital (MMUH), and join a HSCP team supporting adolescent patients with scoliosis to cope with their journey through surgery. The psychologist will join other new MDT & HSCP staff as part of this development to support this patient group using evidence based psychological treatment as per best practice guidelines. The role includes coordinating assessment, formulation and interventions at both inpatient level and outpatient level as well developing the psychology service in line with dept plans. The Psychologist will work in an interdisciplinary way to best meet the needs of the patients and the service. The post-holder will sit in the Dept. of Psychology which is in the Health and Social Care Directorate within the hospital and will report to the Principal Psychologist, Head of Dept. The psychologist will also be responsible to the MDT service within which they will be based.
