Job Title: Staff IC Design Engineer
Location: Biel, Switzerland
Power Integrations, Inc., is a Silicon Valley-based supplier of high-performance electronic components used in high-voltage power-conversion systems. Our integrated circuits and diodes enable compact, energy-efficient AC-DC power supplies for a huge range of electronic products including mobile devices, TVs, PCs, appliances, smart utility meters and LED lights. Our SCALE™ IGBT drivers enhance the efficiency, reliability and cost of high-power applications such as industrial motor drives, solar and wind energy systems, electric vehicles and high-voltage DC transmission.
For our design engineering team located in Biel/Bienne, Switzerland, Power Integrations is currently recruiting for a Staff Analog IC Design Engineer

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • MSc or PhD
  • Minimum 6 years experience on analog and mixed signal Integrated Circuit Design
  • Good understanding of power semiconductors and their applications
  • Solid background in Power Conversion (AC-DC and DC-DC) circuit design
  • Deep knowledge and understanding of best-practice analogue IC design methods (theory and practice)
  • High-voltage analog and mixed Signal IC development experience in CMOS, BCD, BiCMOS
  • Successful track record of designs up to production phase

Responsibilities:

  • Development of economic, efficient and demanding gate driver and power conversion related products
  • Development of smart power functional blocks and complete mixed signal ICs from definition to series maturity
  • Work with colleagues in the IC Design team to define a chip architecture, refine it to block level and agree a chip floor plan;
  • Define innovative circuit solutions that implement the complex and intellectually challenging functions and control schemes necessary to deliver target system performance
  • Analog/ mixed signal circuit definition, design and simulation
  • Diligently employ best practice methods in analogue IC Design to ensure that first silicon behaves as intended and as simulated before tape out
  • Support layout engineer(s) during physical design and related verification
  • Support or execute product validation and debug activities working with Product, Quality and Test engineering up to production ramp-up
  • Generate design documentation reports and participate to Design Reviews.
  • Drive and/or support risk assessment, risk management and Design/Product FMEAs.
  • Drive and/or support preparation of product level verification & validation plans.
  • Contribute to Technology Process and Design Methodology improvements
