JOB SUMMARY

To provide a high standard of individualised patient care reflecting individual competencies and education that involves relatives/carers as appropriate. To be responsible for the nursing care of a defined group of patients. To assist in the management and organisation of the nursing service in the clinical area including the teaching and management of more junior staff or those in training.

Responsibilities:

As a registered, accountable and autonomous nurse to act in the best interests of your patients at all times and take personal responsibility for your actions and decisions. To be responsible for patient assessment, planning of care, implementing and supervising safe and compassionate care, and evaluating the effectiveness of care. As an NMC registrant facilitate learning and development of others. You will demonstrate leadership qualities and be open, transparent and trustworthy. Band 5 Staff Nurse – Elstead Ward
We are looking for an enthusiastic, committed staff nurse who would like to join our new, dynamic and approachable team with a strong multi-disciplinary ethos. Elstead ward is a 30 bedded Older People’s Unit in the Division of Access and Medicine. Specialising in care of the older person , Elstead ward has a multidisciplinary team, consisting of doctors, nurses, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, case managers and social services, all of whom have the aim to provide holistic and inclusive care. We take direct admissions from ED, as well as transfers from EAU. We have a dynamic and enthusiastic team, centralised around holistic patient care with a multidisciplinary approach, focusing on timely CGAs (comprehensive geriatric assessments) and ensuring the patient receives the right care, in the right place, at the right time.
We are seeking to recruit Registered Nurses to work within the unit, who are passionate about older peoples care. We can offer supportive and friendly environment where dedicated multidisciplinary teams deliver progressive and dynamic care for the Older Person.
No experience required, we will offer trainings needed. There will be opportunities for training and developing skills and knowledge in caring for older patients, dementia care and working with other members of multidisciplinary care.
