The surgical nursing team are looking for a high motivated, caring, compassionate and hard working individual to join our friendly E5 lower nursing team for a 10 month secondment who has an interest of caring for patients undergoing colorectal surgery and procedures.
We as a team provide high standards of care for our patients by ensuring that patients have detailed assessments carry out, care plans and implementation of those care plans involving the patient and their families in this decision making, which is then tailored to that individuals needs.
The candidate should be able to explain their skills in demonstrating the importance of identifying attention to detail when caring for patients and having good knowledge and processes of assessing patients care needs and communicating this to the wider team.
We are looking for an individual that can work within a large health care team and maintain accurate records of observations and treatments given to our patients and who are competent and confident to carry our all aspects of nursing care including administration of medications within our agreed policies and procedures.
Communication is a key and central part of nursing and that of working within a large team, therefore the candidate should be able demonstrate the importance of this and be able to give and receive reports of progress of patients, report any concerns or changes with patients condition to the nurse in charge on duty and or the medical staff as appropriate.
The individual should have skills in delegating tasks where appropriate to other members of the nursing team and show that they can priorities their own workload and recognise when they need support.
We will support you in your learning and develop your surgical nursing knowledge and skills with bespoke study days and bedside training together with the surgical education team.
The candidate will be expected to cover a full shifts pattern of days, night and weekend shifts
