Description:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor of Science and 0-3 years of previous professional experience in environmental consulting, experience with utility capital improvement projects and knowledge of MA MCP environmental regulations is a plus.
- 40-hour HAZWOPER training is a plus.
- Valid U.S. Driver’s license.
- Excellent computer skills with technical analysis software, CAD, MS Office, MS Project, PowerPoint, and other computer applications. Experience with GIS software a plus.
- Excellent technical report writing and communication skills are required.
- Willingness and ability to travel on short-term assignments as needed.
- Willingness and ability to perform field tasks and oversight year-round, as required without restrictions.

Responsibilities:
YOUR ROLE AT GEI.
GEI’s Boston area office is seeking a Staff Professional to support field- and office-related efforts associated with capital improvement projects (including energy infrastructure) and contaminated site investigation and remediation projects. Field activities may include: construction oversight and management, coordinating and performing oversight of soil borings and installation of groundwater monitoring wells; collecting soil, groundwater, surface water and sediment samples; and operating air monitoring equipment. Office tasks may include: compiling field documentation; subcontractor and subconsultant interaction; compiling, reviewing, and interpreting data; and drafting correspondence, reports, and work plans.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
- Provide technical oversight to subcontractors, including documenting construction activities and reviewing project specifications.
- Coordinate and conduct environmental and geotechnical site investigations, including soil borings, monitoring well installation, and environmental and geotechnical sampling.
- Perform data management and analysis.
- Draft correspondence and reports, including MCP reports and soil management documents
- Adhere to project scopes and budgets
- This position has a field component; travel, including some overnight travel, is required.
- Candidates should be prepared to work in inclement conditions
