Description:

We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Staff/Property Accountant in the real estate development industry. This position is based in Midland, Texas. As a Staff/Property Accountant, you will be tasked with a range of responsibilities, including financial management, account reconciliation, and property management tasks.

Responsibilities:

  • Review and implement key accounting processes and procedures.
  • Conduct regular estimates and outline budgets associated with various projects and jobs.
  • Ensure all accounts payable and accounts receivable are received and entered into the system after they have been reviewed, coded, and approved.
  • Understand the company’s equity structure for booking transactions correctly and for capital calls, if needed.
  • Carry out monthly bank reconciliations.
  • Manage cash flow by forecasting cash flow needs and producing a weekly liquidity report for management.
  • Perform necessary journal entries and complete month-end close within a timely manner.
  • Compile financial reporting for the entities and present financials to partners monthly and as needed.
  • Participate in meetings with the entire internal team as they are scheduled.
  • Become familiar with owned properties and perform property management tasks as needed.
  • Proficient in Account Coding
  • Experience with Accounting Software Systems
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Accounting Functions
  • Skilled in handling Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
  • Understanding of Accrual Accounting
  • Experience in Auditing
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field preferred
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
  • High attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
  • Familiarity with real estate industry is a plus
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) certification is a plus
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
