QUALIFICATIONS

  • 8+ years’ experience as Release Manager
  • Experience working with agile release cycles
  • Release management experience in the SaaS environment with experience in multiple products and geographical areas
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams through software or systems upgrades
  • Ability to effectively communicate with engineers as well as non-technical teams
  • Substantial background in forming relationships and influencing others
  • Self starter , highly motivated individual with experience working in a fast-moving, changing environment
  • This role requires strong leadership skills, strategic planning abilities, and a deep understanding of continuous integration and delivery processes( CI/CD)

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a seasoned Staff Release Manager with a strong technical focus to lead the release management cycle in a fast-paced environment. This role presents a one-of-a-kind chance to have a significant impact in a growing company by assessing and directing the current release process, as well as partnering with various teams to strategize and enhance the process.
The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, experience with both release train and CI/CD models, and a proven track record of successfully directing teams through technological transformations providing strategic direction, guidance, and mentorship to teams, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
The Staff Release Manager plays a critical role in overcoming challenges, resolving conflicts, prioritizing tasks, and utilizing strong negotiation abilities. To excel in this position, it is essential to have reliability, strong judgment, and the capacity to influence others through analytical thinking and effective leadership.
This is a fully remote opportunity and can be worked from any location in the United States.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Own and oversee the entire release management lifecycle, including strategic planning, coordinating, and managing releases while collaborating with cross-functional leaders for smooth integration and deployment of new features
  • Conduct release readiness reviews and engineering go/no-go reviews
  • Partner and collaborate closely with the engineering team to assign responsibilities, allocate resources, and develop schedules to ensure timely completion of high-quality releases while working closely with QA teams to define testing requirements, execute test plans, and ensure that releases meet quality standards
  • Implement automated testing processes to streamline QA efforts and improve release reliability
  • Communicate all key project plans, commitments, and changes, including requirements, QA plans, schedule, and scope changes throughout the release process and provide regular updates on release status, risks, and issues to stakeholders and management
  • Proficient in navigating through ambiguity while defining a path forward
  • Stay informed about changes that carry a high level of risk and take precautions to minimize their impact
  • Strive for ongoing advancements in the release process maturity
  • Identify opportunities to optimize release processes, tools, and workflows
  • Implement best practices and lessons learned to improve the efficiency and reliability of software releases.
