Description:
Under the supervision of the Project Director (PD) and Principal Investigator (PI), the Research Associate (RA) will engage in independent and collaborative activities. Written and verbal bilingual communication skills (in English and Spanish) are needed for team effectiveness. The position involves day-to-day data collection and management activities crucial to keeping the study moving forward in terms of recruitment, consent, enrollment, tracking of data collected, checking for completeness, and assuring safety of data and participants. The position requires strong organizational and communication skills as well as social media skills (FaceBook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and Pinterest) for content creation, recruitment efforts, and monitoring. Openness to collaboration is needed as the RA will work with Chorus team members on data management via the portal on Chorus and the RA will work with the partnering Mental Health sites where participants obtain services. Through collaborative meetings and activities, the RA will communicate regularly with the PD, PI, Research Team, and also with participants, as needed. The RA will provide verbal or written reports at biweekly Research Study Team Meetings.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Knowledge of and experience in community based research (Preferred)
- Bachelor’s degree in psychology (mental health field), nursing, social welfare, public health or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. (Required)
- Ability to speak and read in English and Spanish (Required)
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively, to receive supervision, and to maintain good working relationships with PD, PI, other faculty, study team members/co-investigators, staff, and participants (Required)
- Competence in using Microsoft Word and Excel. (Required)
- Ability to communicate effectively with PD and PI, faculty, staff, co-investigators, IRB, participants, and vendors verbally, in writing, and via text or emails or letters. (Required)
- Ability to organize and monitor activities; ability to keep a detailed notebook, log, or equivalent to document activities; ability to create monthly written reports and to give verbal updates in meetings. (Required)
- Ability to engage in recruitment, enrollment, tracking of data, checking for completeness, and assuring safety of data. (Preferred)
- Ability to collaborate in community based participatory research and to honor the input from community advisory board members, in collaboration with PI and Co-Investigators. (Required)
- Experience, familiarity, and facility using digital technology including various online, digital, or other software programs; ability to learn new programs including the Chorus platform and its password protected portal for our study team, Twilio, or others such as Canva. (Preferred)
- Experience using, creating accounts for, creating content for, and boosting social media such as Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, YouTube, and TikTok. (Preferred)
- Experience managing fiscal resources; ability to manage e-gift cards for participants under the supervision of the PD, via the Password protected portal on the Chorus platform. (Preferred)
