Description:

This position sets the highest standards for professionalism and administrative competency as the department continues a period of program growth. The incumbent will work for the Biomarker Laboratory under the supervision of Dr. Jin. The chosen candidate will be part of a large team of researchers studying Alzheimer’s disease and diseases related to brain inflammation. This position is a fully operational/journey level, and the incumbent is expected to perform without detailed supervision. They may have responsibility over lower-level laboratory employees and will be responsible for ensuring proper operation and maintenance of laboratory equipment, and any other responsibilities deemed necessary by the supervisors.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in biological sciences or a related field.
  • Experience working with human specimens, especially blood, blood derivatives, CSF, and/or brain tissue
  • Experience using pipettes, centrifuges, and autoclaves and preparing solutions
  • Experience performing SIMOA immunoassays and/or similar fluid biomarker analysis techniques
  • Experience in managing complex, multi-level, multi-personal research activities
  • Experience facilitating collaboration across multiple sites and/or multiple projects Experience preparing detailed written reports and/or database queries
  • Demonstrated communication, leadership, and/or mentoring skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow SOPs or other workflow instructions without deviation.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of neuroanatomy and biomarkers.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of lab management and safety protocols.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office 365, Adobe Acrobat, database software, data analysis software.
  • Ability to review literature and follow the protocols of other investigators.
  • Enthusiastic in learning new lab skills.
  • Proven ability to work alone or as part of a team.
  • Positive can-do work attitude.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
