Description:
Lab Summary: Samsung AI Research Center (SAIC) located in Toronto, Canada, is recruiting outstanding scientists to join our team focused on camera and imaging technology. Our center focuses on short-term and long-term research targeting Samsung products with the potential to impact millions of users worldwide. We are focused on using AI to push the state-of-the-art in image enhancement and restoration, computational photography, and photo editing.
Position Summary: SAIC-Toronto is looking for strong candidates with expertise in low-level computer vision, computational photography, camera ISPs, and AI.
Position Responsibilities: Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Developing solutions to core low-level computer vision/camera challenges such as image denoising, image demosaicing, burst (multi-frame) processing, color manipulation, and photo enhancement.
- Keeping up-to-date on latest trends in AI for image enhancement, image restoration, and in-camera processing.
- Developing lightweight AI models for on-device imaging tasks.
- Publishing findings in top conferences and journals in relevant areas (AI/computer vision/imaging).
- Working in highly collaborative environments with internal and external partners.
- Mentoring and managing staff members.
- Managing and tracking project deliverables.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- PhD in Computer Science or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- 5+ years’ industry experience in low-level computer vision or computational photography projects.
- Track record of publishing scientific papers in top conferences and journals (e.g., CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, NeurIPs, ICML, AAAI).
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal), motivation for international collaboration.
- Ability to mentor other scientists and in the lab.
- Experience with developing, training, and deploying AI models for imaging tasks.
- Solid technical and programming skills (Python, PyTorch/TensorFlow).
