At the Materials and Structural Analysis Division, we develop high-end electron microscopes, with coordinated data management and analysis solutions that improve customer value whilst providing an outstanding customer experience. We work with a wide range of customers in the fields of Life Sciences, Semiconductors, and Material Sciences. In this context, we wish to recruit a Staff Architect to accelerate the development of Athena, our rapidly-growing digital data management platform. Aided by two other architects, you will be:
- Defining, challenging and owning the technical choices regarding platform design, with particular attention to modularity and integration of third-party software and hardware solutions.
- Presenting and clarifying the architecture to the development teams and to external collaborators.
- Collaborating with other architects in the division to build a consistent software ecosystem at the Division level.
- Building and promoting good data governance and management practices across the organization, taking into account the diverse needs of multiple Business Units.
The ideal candidate has a Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, a strong passion for science, and brings recognized experience in software design and architecture, with significant knowledge of .NET or C++. Knowledge in microservice & web technologies (REST, OpenAPI, Kubernetes) is a strong plus.
The position is based in Brno, Czech Republic, and involves frequent interaction with partners in multiple countries including the Netherlands, USA and France. English proficiency is therefore a must.
