You will be part of a talented team of software engineers who strive to apply the latest technology trends to provide best-in-class solutions for our customers within Dentrix Ascend. This position is responsible for performing advanced programming tasks for the maintenance and enhancement in the insurance domain around insurance claims processing and electronic remittance advice (ERAs).

What You Will Do

• Craft code that reflects an expert understanding of object-oriented design, refactoring, clean code, clean architecture and solid engineering principles
• Refactoring code to optimize performance, enhance maintainability, and drive innovation
• Follow the Test-Driven Development (TDD) paradigm
• Model and mentor in class best practices to improve engineering processes
• Solve complex problems using knowledge, passion, and curiosity
• Participate in Agile/Scrum meetings and code reviews
• Code with adherence to best practices including test driven development
• Partner with our DevOps team to build and support CI/CD pipelines

Travel/Physical Demands

• Travel typically less than 10%
• Office environment with no special physical demands required

Technologies We Use

• Languages & Frameworks: Java Spring Boot, Groovy, Grails
• Frontend: React, Vue, Backbone
• Databases: MS SQL Server and Postgres
• DevOps & Tools: GitLab, Jira
• Containerization: Docker
• Microservice Architecture
• REST API development

What You Will Have

• 8+ years of fullstack software engineering experience with Java and similar and/or related technologies
• Understanding of domain driven design
• Expert level experience in unit testing
• Understanding and defining cross-team interdependent roadmaps
• Experience working in an agile environment (Jira a plus)
• Solid written and verbal communication skills
• Enjoy sharing ideas with, and learning from, other team members
• Effectively estimate engineering work within 6-12 month timelines

Nice to Haves

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field
• Prior experience as a team lead or technical lead
• Experience with Revenue Cycle Management software
