Description:

STAFF TRAINER

Monday - Friday 8:00am-5:00pm
This role is responsible for the continuous evaluation, organization, and planning of the agency’s in-service training programs. The employee will review and implement procedures to assess the effectiveness of training efforts. Reporting to and working under the supervision of the Training Administrator, key responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

Essential Functions:

  • Complete training requirements within the first month of employment to become a Certified Regional Staff Trainer through the ND Developmental Disabilities Curriculum
  • Track and coordinate training to ensure Kalix staff meet all State and other regulatory training requirements.
  • Assess training needs for both Kalix and MVAW services.
  • Develop training materials to the diverse learning styles and needs of employees.
  • Schedule and coordinate training sessions.
  • Deliver training using a variety of instructional methods to meet the different learner needs.
  • Evaluate training effectiveness and share feedback with the Training Administrator.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date training records; develop new records as needed.
  • Submit monthly, quarterly, and annual reports to the State Training Director and Training Administrator.
  • Participate in revision or developing new modules for use in the statewide training system.
  • Participate in the onboarding and training of all new staff.
  • Perform other duties assigned or required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in special education or related field.
  • 3-5 years related experience

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  1. Strong understanding of developmental and intellectual disabilities
  2. Knowledge of teaching principles, methods and tools.
  3. Ability to create and adapt materials to train staff effectively.
  4. Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
  5. Capability to assess the impact of training programs and make necessary adjustments.
  6. Ability to motivate staff to gain knowledge that will drive client outcomes.
  7. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  8. Strong verbal and written communication skills, with experience presenting to both small and large groups.
