Qulliq Energy Corporation (QEC) is entrusted with providing safe and reliable power to customers across Nunavut. QEC is the sole energy provider in the territory and operates 25 stand-alone diesel power generation facilities and distribution systems across the territory.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS INCLUDE:

  • Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in Human Resources.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in a human resources administration or recruitment role.
  • Experience in interpreting and administering HR policies and procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the full cycle recruitment process for indeterminate staffing competitions, up to and including intermediate level competitions.
  • Responsible for the full cycle recruitment process for temporary and relief employment.
  • Creates job advertisements based on existing position descriptions and ensures that they are translated into the relevant official languages prior to posting.
  • Coordinates multiple competitions and selection processes (e.g. applicant screening, interviews, written assignments, testing, reference checks, on-site visits).
  • Works with the Facilities Management, Purchasing and Travel departments to coordinate new hire travel, accommodation and relocations.
  • Audits all competition files, ensuring that all documentation is collected, saved, completed and verified prior to a recruitment file being closed.
  • Administers the control and approval process for all temporary and relief employee’s extensions.
  • Responds to routine internal and external questions or concerns regarding employment information, HR policies and procedures.
  • Replies to general inquiries in the QEC HR Inbox and directs concerns to the appropriate personnel.
