Description:

POSITION DETAILS

  • Liaise with VME Team, vehicle operations, engineering teams, and suppliers.
  • Raise Purchase Orders etc. as required for Tooling and Facilities.
  • Participate in DDR (Die Design Reviews), tooling reviews, and buyoff activities.
  • Assist with all Launch and Sheet Metal quality activities.
  • Complete PSW and acquire required customer acceptances
  • Compile and report LQOS (Launch Quality Operating System) metrics + attend all launch meeting cadences
  • Support to Identify and analyze deviations from established company quality standards.
  • Conduct root cause investigations and prevent re-occurrences
  • Conduct PVT & TVM activities as required
  • Work with both facility and tooling teams both within to ensure all launch metrics are delivered.
  • Buy off tooling at supplier site, ensure timely in plant delivery timing allowing for robust launch and early PSW completion
  • Develop and train LNE teams on all sites to be capable of:
  • Overcoming issues such as splits and wrinkles
  • Improving FPA to better than expected levels
  • Ensuring all tools run at Engineered Cycle Rate prior to production handover.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • National Diploma / Degree Mechanical Engineering
  • Extensive experience 5 + years in stamping and tool development
  • Knowledge of CAD systems (Autocad / Catia / Tebis / Vismockup)
  • Solid Technical knowledge - 2D / 3D drawings (Facilities and Stamping dies)

  • Strong trade and hands-on background experience.
  • Exposure to both advanced engineering programs and launch.
  • Prior experience in stamping production and or tooling manufacture.

Responsibilities:

The objective of the Stamping Engineer is to ensure that the Silverton Stamping programs are delivered on time, in budget and at required quality and productivity levels.
