This position serves as the Michigan Rehabilitation Services (MRS) deputy bureau director with 555 staff in six divisions located throughout Michigan. This position develops and manages complex work to serve over 40,000 individuals with disabilities and over 2,500 businesses to achieve and improve employment outcomes for MRS customers. The position manages all operations consistent with federal, state, department, and bureau requirements while upholding the bureau’s values and the LEO-Employment and Training’s (E&T) Guiding Principles. This position provides executive-level leadership to ensure an effective, efficient and accountable vocational rehabilitation program.

There is a possibility of a remote/hybrid schedule based on performance and operational need. However, all work must be performed in Michigan. If you currently reside outside of Michigan, you must relocate to Michigan to perform the duties of this position.

EDUCATION

Possession of a bachelor’s degree in any major.

EXPERIENCE

Two years of professional managerial experience.

ALTERNATE EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Education level typically acquired through completion of high school and three years of safety and regulatory or law enforcement supervisory experience at the 14 level; or, two years of safety and regulatory or law enforcement supervisory experience at the 15 level, may be substituted for the education and experience requirements.
