DESCRIPTION

Performs all the duties of an Operating Engineer. Promotes a team atmosphere in which everyone is encouraged to contribute to the best of their ability. Acts as a team leader in support of Plant Operations staff. Establishes work priorities and work schedules, assigns work, and reviews work for quality, staff productivity and timeliness. Acts as a customer advocate for Facilities and Support Services. Provides monthly improvement report to Department Manager. Reports to the Manager of Facilities & Support Services.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Education to meet certification, license or registration requirement.
• Current City of Los Angeles Steam Engineer – Unlimited HP License upon hire.
• California Fire and Life Safety Card - National Organization within 30 days of hire.
• 5 years of power plant experience; preferably hospital experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Associate’s Degree from an accredited vocational college.
