POSITION SUMMARY

Under general supervision, the entry-level Statistical Analyst position will review, correct, and approve company data submissions for one or more insurance lines. This position will prepare and distribute summarized reports proficiently in balancing, auditing, problem investigation, and resolution. This position will also be responsible for the accuracy and timely completion of all work products and participation in project teams as directed.

QUALIFICATIONS

(a) Educational Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree in Insurance or related industry experience.

(b) Experience:

  • Functional knowledge of all installed personal computer tools – Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Ability to multitask to complete assignments efficiently.
  • Ability to communicate, both orally and in writing, with internal departments and externally with customers.
  • Works effectively with team members within the department and across departments.

Responsibilities:

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Audits company submissions for edit errors and reasonability.
  • Investigate and resolve out-of-balance conditions and data problems.
  • Prepares external reports and data files, including balancing, auditing, and issue resolution.
  • Communicates verbally and in writing to subscriber companies regarding data problems and resolution.
  • Corrects company data, as directed.
  • Applies basic techniques of balancing and auditing in the preparation of external reports.
  • Adheres to standard processes and completes all required documentation.
  • Document and update business procedures for preparation of assigned reports, as needed.
  • Communicates data reporting issues and/or system problems to the appropriate teams.
  • Proposes improvements to the business processes and/or technology to improve quality or increase efficiency.
