Responsibilities:
- Support in the development of the regulatory and planning strategy and oversee its implementation to ensure that planning is properly embedded in project plans and that project timescales allow enough time for execution of appropriate planning strategy
- Liaise with and engaging at a technical level with national, regional and local policy makers to ensure that the strategic objectives of the Contracting Entity are reflected as far as possible in new planning policy.
- Representing the Contracting Entity’s interests with a view to ensuring, to the extent possible, that planning legislation is fit for purpose
- Providing statutory planning input into papers that may be submitted by the Contracting Entity to relevant statutory bodies, ‘policy formation’ organisations, NGOs etc. Production of and submittal of submissions where relevant
- Co-ordination of Planning Applications for Infrastructure Department Portfolio including addressing Further Information requests from the Statutory Authorities
- Preparing Appeals and Challenges to Development Contributions set by the Statutory Authorities
- Overseeing safeguarding with respect to land use policies for Dublin and Cork Airports including monitoring and advising the Executive on planning applications for developments outside the airport boundary which may impact on or be impacted by the Airport
- Prepare appropriate and relevant reports on the planning function to the busines
