Description:

THE OPPORTUNITY

We’re seeking an experienced Property Officer, specialised within Statutory Property, to join our growing team. This position provides a high level of professional service to Council and the community through it’s efficient management and administration of Council’s property assets in accordance with best practice and statutory compliance principles.
Reporting to the Statutory Property Manager, you will assist in the acquisition of land and management of road closures and easement matters, including the sourcing and reviewing of valuation advice.

  • Manage the Council’s Land Register, ensuring data integrity and legislative requirements are met
  • Manage road and reserve naming enquiries and matters
  • Assist the Statutory Property Manager, and Senior Property Officer, in Native Title issues relating to the Crown Lands Management Act (CLM Act) including provision of direction and guidance to internal and external consultants.
  • This is a permanent opportunity – working full-time 35 hours / week + access to a flexible working arrangement
  • Base Salary Range: $66,924 to $78,574 pa based on 35 hours / week + 11.5% superannuation + $2,312 retention allowance
  • You will be working from PSC Admininistration Building, Raymond Terrace

Responsibilities:

  • A formal qualification in a property related discipline and/or substantial relevant experience
  • Demonstrated experience in Property/Legal/Conveyancing administration and management systems
  • Demonstrated understanding of relevant legal requirements relative to the following acts/regulations:
    o Local Government Act
    o Roads Act
    o Land Valuation Act
    o Conveyancing Act
    o Crown Lands Management Act 2016
    o Crown Lands Management Regulation 2016
    o Land Acquisition (Just Terms Compensation Act)
    o Land Rights Act
    o Native Title Act
