Stay & Play Attendant

POSITION SUMMARY:

Join our team and have a positive impact for members of our Y by ensuring families have access to safe care for their children while they engage in healthy living opportunities. This position is for an individual to support a group of children, ranging in age from 6 weeks-10 years old. Our goal is to support each individual child, ensuring children are nurtured and well cared for while they are utilizing the Stay and Play program.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Ability to represent the YMCA in an effective way in the community.
• Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with volunteers, staff and the community.

• Candidate will execute the daily operations of the Stay and Play program.
• Directly supervise and care for a group of young children.
• Collaborate with other Stay and Play Staff members.
• Communicate effectively with children, parents, and Y staff members.
• Monitor personal hygiene of children in your care.
• Always maintain a clean and safe environment.
• Implement developmental age-appropriate activities with children.
• Provide care, guidance and developmental experiences meeting appropriate educational and emotional needs of each child.
• Keep accurate documentation on the children in the program and submit incident reports when necessary.
