Role Description
We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable STEAM/Computer Science Educator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics (STEAM), with a focus on computer science. The educator will be responsible for developing and delivering engaging curriculum that inspires students to explore and excel in these fields.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and deliver innovative STEAM and computer science lessons for children and adults.
Integrate the latest EdTech tools and products into the curriculum to enhance learning outcomes.
Foster a creative and inclusive learning environment that encourages students to explore new ideas and solve problems.
Assess student progress and adapt teaching methods to meet diverse learning needs.
Collaborate with other educators and staff to create interdisciplinary projects and activities.
Stay updated on the latest trends and advancements in STEAM education and EdTech.
Organize and facilitate workshops, camps, and special events related to STEAM and computer science.
Engage with parents, caregivers, and the community to promote our programs and services.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Education, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Teaching certification or relevant credentials in STEAM or Computer Science education in preferred.
Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience, preferably in a STEAM or makerspace environment.
Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and Scratch, and familiarity with robotics, coding platforms, and other EdTech tools.
Strong understanding of STEAM principles and the ability to integrate them into the curriculum.
Experience with hands-on, project-based learning and the ability to inspire creativity and critical thinking in students.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
Passion for education and a commitment to fostering a love of learning in students of all ages.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with 3D printing, CAD software, or other makerspace technologies.
Knowledge of current trends in digital literacy and computational thinking.
Ability to design and implement interdisciplinary projects that combine multiple STEAM disciplines.
