Description:
Overview
As our Sterile Processing Tech at CHI St Vincent Infirmary, you’ll help our team oversee the sterilization and cleaning of medical equipment, instruments or supplies in a sterile processing environment.
To be a successful sterile processing technician, you should be meticulous with strong attention to detail. You should have a good working knowledge of a variety of sterilization techniques and be able to work with fragile equipment.
CHI St Vincent Infirmary is a 600 bed faith-based, non-profit, acute care facility providing quality health care to patients and communities from all over the State of Arkansas. QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma, or GED Required
- Certification as a Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) preferred

Responsibilities:
- Monitor and operate sterilization equipment
- Examine supplies meticulously to ensure they are properly cleaned and sanitized
- Test and report any issues or problems with the sterilization equipment
- Sterilize, prepare, wrap and organize equipment into instrument trays for use during medical procedures
- Prepare and deliver all necessary equipment and instruments for surgeries, examinations, medical procedures and medical carts
- Maintain records of sterilization procedures, sterilized items, equipment maintenance and supplies
