Description:

The purpose of this post is to provide managerial support to the Theatre Manager in the development, implementation and co-ordination of procedures and instructions relating to decontamination and processing of medical devices within SSD
The post holder will be the Decontamination lead for the site, ensuring that all clinical areas are compliant with local and national regulations.
To lead responsibility for overseeing specialist maintenance on decontamination equipment to relevant standards.
To provide, receive and interpret complex technical information in relation to services equipment and test results, using appropriate internal and external quality assurance and to carry out corrective action or inform senior staff as appropriate.
The post holder will have responsibility for the SSD team and as a proactive Team Leader using effective communication skills to be actively involved in changing plans and goals according to evaluation and review
The post holder will actively and autonomously involve themselves in supporting the Directorate strategy of integration and development of staff to facilitate the highest quality of patient care.
The post holder will have responsibility for the ongoing co-ordination and maintenance of existing centralised decontamination and future/additional decontamination requirements of all reusable instrumentation/medical devices.
